World in chaos

I think this world is in chaos and every day this is verified with news accounts and events taking place all across the globe. I believe this is a strong indication pointing to the end of the age and the soon return of Jesus Christ. In this thread I am going to post some of these news stories and events as I have time, but I'll only be able to highlight very few at a time since so much is happening so fast it's really too hard to keep up with everything. Feel free to read and/or comment or discuss.

We all have the power to CHOOSE what we deem important. Where is your report of all the goodness that takes place in the world? Who has taught you to value everything but goodness so much? Are things really so bad? The world's population is over 7 billion now. In order to challenge and teach that many, more has to happen. Add to that the increasing communication capabilities and more gets seen. But where are all the GOOD stories? Hmmm? Let's keep them quiet. The world would look so much different if we don't.

He is clearly referring to the generation alive at the time. THIS generation, not some future generation. You are being silly.
It's called traditional religion. Reinterpretation of scripture to suit what you prefer to believe.

Anybody reading the Gospels honestly can see that the apostles thought Jesus was the Messiah who would rescue Judea from the Romans. Jesus may or may not have, but the apostles did.

They may have initially thought Jesus would rescue them from the Romans, but they didn't think so after He was crucified and resurrected from the dead. Then they knew who He was and spread the good news everywhere they went.

Yes, we all have the power to choose what we deem important and there IS plenty of beauty and goodness in this world to be grateful for... Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of light... James 1:17. Nevertheless, it is also important, from my perspective, to acknowledge reality.

Perhaps if you identify whatever it is that you believe is happening now that was not always happening somewhere?

That is my principle concern with end times prophecies - you point to earthquakes, but of course we do not have earthquake data for anything other than the last few decades. You point to war, but there have always been wars. You point to disease, but disease kills fewer people than ever.

So what is it about 2014 that leads you to think that it is the end times? Are you not better off now than your ancestors have ever been?

When, just when, was there a time when the World was not in Chaos?
Did you have a time-period of tranquility in mind?

This is a time of high unrest in the life cycle of the human soul.
It is not however anything unusual.

Ask a woman about cycles and how their emotions play out during the ebbs and flows of those cycles.
Now take that information and apply it to humanity as a whole and you have your reason for what is happening in the world.

It is not the end of the earth or humanity but rather the end of a cycle that is internal being played out on the world stage.
It's quite fascinating once you understand it.

The poor fundamentalists christians think it is the end of the world.
Granted things could get pretty bad and one should be prepared for the problems that could arise in times like this, but Jesus is not coming back and there will be no rapture.

Jesus has to return to the nation of Israel. In Luke 21 he said the Jews would be scattered all over the world until the time of the Gentiles (non-Jews) is complete.
After almost 2000 years of not existing Israel is now a nation again and the center of world attention and hated by almost everyone.

Nobody hates israel, everyone loves Israel and claims it as theirs.

What utter paranoid rubbish. Oh you poor victimised little dear - everyone hates Israel do they?

The difference is that so many indications are happening all at once now, including the number one event of the nation of Israel in the land again, which was not a reality over the last 1900 years until 1948.
Nah. There's just a lot more media coverage, internet, etc. Years ago, stuff would happen that most folks would never hear about.

I am not referring only to events of 2014, but rather the last five to six decades since Israel was re-established as a nation, which is the number one indication of the final days before the return of Christ. Yes, there have always been wars, earthquakes, disease, etc. What I am trying to express is my perspective that there are conditions which are becoming more intense or rather more threatening on a global scale. For example, it has only been in the last 60-70 years that humanity has had the capability to bring about mass destruction with nuclear weapons... World War 3: Vladimir Putin Threatens US, Europe with Russia's 5,000 Nuclear Warheads .
It has only been since the 1990's that food crops began to be genetically modified threatened the future of food crops...GMO Food Dangers | eHow. And now it is realized that the overuse of antibiotics in our healthcare and agricultural systems has opened the door for antibiotic resistant bacteria...Drug-resistant 'superbugs': CDC sets threat levels for bacteria - CNN.com
These things, I believe, open the door to possible war, famine, and disease on a much larger and worldwide scale unlike those of the past.

I have a Jewish friend. Lives just up the road from me. So as long as I stop him from migrating to Israel, we should be good.
I've tied him up and put him in my boot for the security of humanity.

Isn't Jesus supposed to rule from the "New Jerusalem"? Why would you think that is the same as the Jerusalem we know currently?

I believe it is important to distinguish between the 1000 year Millennium when Jesus will return to rule from literal Jerusalem, Israel (Rev, 20:4-7; Zachariah 14:3-4) and the Eternal Kingdom of the new heaven and new earth when the New Jerusalem will come down from heaven (Rev. 21:1-2)

I'll check those verses, thanks.

Like I said I can't post everything at once or it would take too long and be overwhelming to read it all, but I certainly know about the CA drought...had to drill a new well last year and still paying for it.

There is a lot of greed out there and I think it is destroying the earth.

The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” Rev. 11:18
The droughts in Australia are devastating. We have had droughts for a long time but they are getting worse I reckon. They call our land the land of droughts and flooding plains. We are getting major floods now that are flooding cities. Just like the rest of the world ie the major cyclone hits Andhra Pradeshlast week. We are seeing more extreme weather patterns around the world partly caused by human pollution.

Not according to Jesus or the bible it's not.

Yes, I know that you are trying to express that - but why be dishonest? You are lying when you say that there are more earthquakes, wars and diseases now - you CAN NOT POSSIBLY know how many earthquales there were in earlier centuries, there have always been wars and disease kills far LESS people over recent decades. What I am questioning is why you are lying about these things?
For example, it has only been in the last 60-70 years that humanity has had the capability to bring about mass destruction with nuclear weapons... World War 3: Vladimir Putin Threatens US, Europe with Russia's 5,000 Nuclear Warheads .

Genetically engineered food crops feed billions buddy - they are a good thing, they SAVE countless lives.
And now it is realized that the overuse of antibiotics in our healthcare and agricultural systems has opened the door for antibiotic resistant bacteria...Drug-resistant 'superbugs': CDC sets threat levels for bacteria - CNN.com

Human health, life expectancy and child mortality have all IMPROVED vastly - not worsened. Why are you telling these scary lies?
