Worst Movie Ever?

YmirGF

Bodhisattva in Recovery
Mad Max: The Road Warrior

Saw this recently and was horrified at how terrible it really is. The weird part is I didn't remember the movie as being all that awful when I saw it way back when. Leave this stinker in the bargain bin.

My girlfriend really hated "the dreamers"

I think it was the incestous undertones, the public masturbation

but maybe not michael pitt's penis....

I dunno...

I actually saw it at a major theater in New York City (the one where all 6 star wars films were first shown), I kinda liked it...

Just about everything. I didn't think the three hours of flagellation was either profound or entertaining. I'm not convinced by the people say, "Oh, it shows what Jesus went through for us," because apart from the fact I don't think he went through it for us, I know people personally who have suffered a great deal more, and would gladly trade their lung cancer or their AIDS or the death of their child for a single day of torture. I think it trivializes the life and teachings of Jesus by making the manner of his death the most important thing about him. There was no real character development and no real plot; the whole movie amounted to little more than a tableau of brutality. The only thing I liked about it was what I took the be the symbolism of Eve, as the mother of humanity, standing as a witness to the whole thing -- and then I found out that the female figure was not intended to be Eve, but Satan. In short, I don't think it's even necessary to bring up the whole argument about anti-Semitism to say this is the worst movie I've ever seen about Jesus.

It wasn't as insipid as movies about Jesus usually are; I'll give it that. But it was worse than insipid.

Ah, thank you so much for spelling out everything that I felt about Passion of the Christ. I went to see it at the theatre, and I was soooo looking forward to it. When it started, I thought about how much I was going to love it. And then as it went on, I felt more and more disgusted by it. Mary's plight of watching her son tortured and crucified couldn't even elevate my opinion. I kept hearing people cry all around me, and I just could not find myself to be an any sort of agreement with anybody.

Then when I left the theatre, I felt like it was the worst movie I had ever seen, and probably because of how pumped up I was to go see it - TOTAL let down. I don't remember being any more disappointed than that moment. I remember when I was asked if I'd seen the movie, and I responded that I had and I absolutely hated it, people would always ask me, "How COULD you hate it? It's about how Jesus died for our sins!!" as if I insulted them personally.

Oh, I also thought The Wicker Man (remake) with Nicholas Cage was vomitous. Plus.....

Howard the Duck

Ishtar

and

Catwoman

When I watched these movies, I just wanted to cry out of shame.

Vampires vs Zombies is possibly the most awful film I've ever seen. I'm not even sure what this film was actually about as I don't seem to recall any vampires and zombies actually fighting each other... it was just like a bad vampire film with a bad zombie film edited in between shots.

By the way, I'm a Lucio Fulci fan, so I don't normally mind "bad" films, but Vampires vs Zombies was just painful.

I also hated Signs, Blair Witch Project, Paranormal activity, The Village and Twilight... ok I haven't actually seen or read Twilight but I could rant for a page and a half about how much I loathe edward cullen (I actually went back and put his name in lower case, he doesn't deserve big letters) and whatshisface that plays him.

Star Trek V been mentioned yet? :p

Then again, that one's only bad in hindsight, because when I first saw it, I was still unfamiliar with Star Trek and didn't know the characters very well. (I also hadn't seen the other movies, yet.) So I didn't see any problems with it.

However, now that I know the characters better, and the story arc of the six original films, I know that it sucks.

Therefore, how about Star Trek: The (Slow) Motion Picture? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

Then again, that one had some okay elements...

Oh, fine! The Good Shepherd. That movie was just... a whole lot 'o nothin'.

One I never got into that a lot of my friends like was burn after reading, I thought it was stupid, espacially when that odd "machine" was brought into the picture.
Oh and I never though they could make brad pitt unattractive, but that movie proved me wrong.

Yeah, that movie got great reviews, but I, also, didn't think it was very good. It was just dull. I was told it was supposed to be a comedy, but I didn't see any jokes.

Revenge of the Psychotronic Man.

Synopsis;

Psychotronic Man kills another man with dodgy mind powers, goes on run.
Car chase.
Foot chase.
Slow car chase including turn signalling.
Foot chase number two, including the exciting jump over a 1 foot wall.
Psychotronic Man is shot and dies (I think?)

Awesomely bad.

I thought The Passion was a cute little film. The costumes and the sets were good.
Heh, I'm in two minds about the Passion. I thought the effort that went into the film; historical clothing, language, sets etc were good, but another part of me found the whole thing unnecessary. Unlike the Last Temptation which I thought was excellent, if less historically accurate.
