Y'see, it's stuff like this which makes me angry at the Treaty of Versailles, which made Germany the blame of WW1, and the war reparations!
After WW1, Germany's currency hyper-inflated to the point where you had million-mark notes, and to make things worse, they had to pay back ridiculous and unfair amounts of money to the victors, then French and Belgian troops occupied the Ruhr etc.
Perhaps (maybe, I dunno) if the victors of WW1 had been more realistic and sympathetic in our treatment of Germany, then maybe the people would not have radicalized and Hitler wouldn't have rose to power. Again, I'm not a historian but the more I look at it, the more avoidable a lot of the problems seemed to be. Hell even WW1 should never have happened - but anyways, this is derailing a little so I'll stop.
