    Apostasy

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear in the OP, I meant someone who leaves the organisation of their own accord (apostate) not someone who was disfellowshipped.

    Apostasy

When a Witness (baptised member) leaves the organisation does the governing body advice not to speak to that person at all(including family and friends who are in the organisation), or just limit how much time you spend with them? (Genuine question)

    I *heart* Rebecca Walker

The first quote is actually very radical, 100% something a radical would say. I haven't read anything R.Walker has written but as a mixed person I'm interested in reading "black white and Jewish"

    What is radical feminism?

I haven't read Marilyn French so I can't have an opinion. But your friend is right Dworkin has been misrepresented many times. Her work speaks to me because of how she has challenged sexuality and views of prostitutition and rape in a male dominated society. In my opinion she is a really good...

Who Benefits Most from a Patriarchal Society?

I find it really interesting that even amongst apes, a matriarchy is not equivalent to a patriarchy. Bono society for example is far less violent then chimpanzee society.

    Am I imagining this or...?

That literally made me laugh out loud.

    Patrilineal Family Names

I have my mothers fathers name, I like it best because it shows off non-white heritage. If I got married I wouldn't change it, my partners family did not raise me and their surname and lineage and heritage is not my own and never will be. I don't want children. I guess it is one of the reasons...

    Men's Issues/Masculism DIR

Omg! You are so right...I never thought about it like that. You have opened my eyes to the hate crimes committed against walking people. These non walking people claim to believe in equality and yet they won't allow us to have the same treatment that they get! You know what? This is reversed...

    What is radical feminism?

I agree with the description of radical feminism. To me the radical re-order would be the breaking down of gender roles and creating a gender and sexually fluid society, where there is not a concept for 'man' and 'woman' and especially men don't get to define womanhood and name woman even...

    Saving Yourself for Marriage?

I don't really take the concept of 'virginity' seriously. I mean you can masturbate, masturbate someone else, have oral sex, have anal sex if we are talking male and female partners and still be a virgin until the penis is in the vagina?? I mean...whatever!!!

Think ahead 25 years - Fourth Wave Feminism?

I love the girl effect video! It's the main reason I'm a member of UNICEF

The Sex Messages Affect Men Too

I have had a guy tell me that women are naturally more loyal to their male sexual partners and men aren't as loyal, that is why in some cultures and religions they are allowed more than one wife. And another guy tell me that women have all the power in a relationship because they can withhold sex.

anyone ever wanted to be a moviestar

Oh my god! Me too!! Major Bowie crush. But now that I'm older I think Bowie is a bit of a creeper in the movie, she's in high school and he is an ancient Goblin king trying to groom her lol!

    Men's Issues/Masculism DIR

I personally haven't voted yet, I'm tempted to just vote yes though, but only to humor the disingenuous members purely reacting to the feminist DIR.

    Men's Issues/Masculism DIR

1-The person who suggested the DIR only did so because there is now a feminist DIR, that doesn't mean they personally identify as a masculinst or even thought about a masculinist DIR before we had a feminist one. 2- Being interested in topics and actually identifying as a masculinist are two...

    Men's Issues/Masculism DIR

Well from what I have read you seem to be the only one so far on the forums who identifies as a masculinist.

    Men's Issues/Masculism DIR

Wow it's funny how you are the only one to answer the question and you're not even a masculinist! I guess there isn't actually any masculinists on RF. So like, why was this thread made again?:sleep:
