Islam is our only shared root. We are very similar in our aims though. We support their efforts to bring about a better future for humanity. I think we both manifest a large portion of the truth which is why we are similar.
My practices are commanded so they are my beliefs. Prayer is obligatory. We also have a gathering every 19 days that we are told we should do. Not sure if I am answering the question correctly.
My religion says that we must all be united in what we believe. Denominations are prohibited. There have been a few groups to splinter away but they literally only have a handful of followers now-a-days. 99.99% of us are in the mainline branch. So in that sense everyone in my religion is a purist.

One thing I appreciate about the Baha'i faith is that we had 3 different people interpret our writings with the station of infallibility. It has greatly reduced the amount of conflict we have based on "context".
