We haven't figured that out yet. Ideally someday everyone will convert to Baha'i and do what we say because they want to. At least that's what our religion teaches. If they don't then I guess we were wrong. I'm willing to take the chance.
Personally I believe it will work. We have about 5 million people and our global administration has been voted-in every 5 years since the 60's. The fact that no one has ever heard of us tells me we are doing something right. There are laws we follow but we have a strict non involvement policy...
We claim to have new revelation from God that better elucidates what his plan is for the future. We believe any conflict with previous religious belief is man made. Our primary goal is a world government that will unite the world as one country. The highest level is democratically elected every...
You could just look it up on wikipedia. They probably do a lot better job than I could. Essentially we believe that all religions are one and that world peace is the true meaning of life.
I was more curious if you've ever heard of us before rather than suggesting that it would be something you should get into. I think it has a fascinating premise and deserves at least a glance from anyone who is the least bit interested in the future of humanity :)
The Baha'i believe the end times have already come. We believe that Jesus came back as Bahaullah. We believe our purpose as the Baha'i Commonwealth is to take humanity out of the "end times" of this cycle and to bring us into the glory of the next cycle. We are building a literal New Jerusalem...
I think this is another term that exists purely to create divisive "us vs them" thinking. I'm liberal kill all the conservatives. I'm conservative kill all the liberals.
Is it limited to the Christian religion's interpretation of God creating the world in 7 literal days? I believe in creation but my religion says that evolution was the mode of creation so I don't get how there is a "versus" there.
In Baha'i we don't even hold the traditional view of heaven or hell. The afterlife is like a new journey that everyone goes on and, like in this life, some people are closer to God than others. "Hell" and "heaven" are seen as the distance from God both in this world and the next.
One of the core ideas of Baha'i is that it is against our religion to have branches. Therefore anyone who forms a branch is essentially going against our core religious teaching and is probably closer to it's own religion than a branch of ours
I'm an eternal seeker. I have a religion that I believe is true but I'm open to the possibility that it isn't true. This hopefully will always be the case.
