Radical Christian Fundamentalist Murders her own 6-week old daughter

Sorry. What I should have said was "on balance" instead of "to be fair" I was referring to the newspaper reporting style, as opposed to the crime. This paper has a reputation of sensationalising stories, so I was referring to to the style of reporting on the story rather than the story itself...

Thanks for the frubes, Senedjem. I'm putting them in a jar, waiting for armaggedon, then having an almighty frube party on armaggedon eve. You're invited. Bring beer.

A Lone Wolf in The Deadly Desert?

I'm not on the LHP, but following your own path is important. Whether you have like-minded people around you or not, shouldn't matter. You have to do what you think is right. As the only atheist pagan in my area, I have to follow what I think will get me through. Do the same. It can only come...

    Frubal Orgy

I fruballed loads of people last night (you know who you are), so I DEMAND to be fruballed in return. It's all about give and take, people. I gave and you took. Payback time. Gimme dem frubes, y'all.

Radical Christian Fundamentalist Murders her own 6-week old daughter

Plus the story is from the Daily Mail - a paper not renowned for its impartiality and lack of social judgement. If it had been toilet paper instead of a bible, would it have been reported in the same way? I don't think so.

Radical Christian Fundamentalist Murders her own 6-week old daughter

To be fair, if the mother suffered from psychoses and bi-polar disorder, then the religious aspect of this tragic story may be irrelevant

    Back on the mountains :)

Wow! I'm a firm advocate of the healing effects of mountains. You reach the top all sweaty and totally knackered, but man, do you feel alive! Enjoy the walk.

On an island off the west coast of Scotland.

    Back on the mountains :)

Thanks! I've only lived there for about 7 years now, but it still blows me away every day. I have the best bike ride to work you can imagine!

    Back on the mountains :)

stephenw If you want, you could put an account of your walk (plus any pics) on the Wilderness Walkers group I started a month ago. Contributions have been very slow.... No pressure (seeing the mountains of Ireland would be nice, though). Here's a pic of where I live. I escape here every...

    Back on the mountains :)

Enjoy it, stephenw John Muir: 'Never more, however weary, should one faint by the way who gains the blessings of one mountain day. Whatever his fate - long life, short life, stormy or calm - he is rich forever.'

    Do Plants Feel?

I read the Mythbusters article earlier today, and it made several points questioning the validity of the experiments. I think the experiments fall into the 'allowable' category (for my purposes); they just need to be a bit more rigorous.

    Communicating with God?

Thanks. I know you used the word 'commune' rather than 'communicate', but hey, close enough!
