I was referring to the newspaper reporting style, as opposed to the crime. This paper has a reputation of sensationalising stories, so I was referring to to the style of reporting on the story rather than the story itself...

Plus the story is from the Daily Mail - a paper not renowned for its impartiality and lack of social judgement. If it had been toilet paper instead of a bible, would it have been reported in the same way? I don't think so.

I read the Mythbusters article earlier today, and it made several points questioning the validity of the experiments. I think the experiments fall into the 'allowable' category (for my purposes); they just need to be a bit more rigorous.
