Just because you're free to say something doesn't mean you should. There's this little thing called tact. If you don't know what it is, I'll define it for you.
Tact-adroitness and sensitivity in dealing with others or with difficult issues
That being said, I think we all need to exercise some...
That's because with most dogs you don't have to do anything to earn love, you just get it. If you pay even the slightest amount of attention to a dog it loves you and you're its best friend. Dogs are great. I wish I still had one....
I don't think we should baby them, they certainly don't baby anyone else. The fact that people are hypocritical enough to think that we need to conform ourselves to the social norms of a faith we don't believe in is pathetic. If someone doesn't believe in your god, then suck it up and get on...
I think dogs feel some kind of love for us. All social animals have some sense of love, even if its not exactly the same sense as humans have. Love is a broad and fairly vague term, and I'm pretty sure dogs love their food and thus, they love the people who bring them food.
Children are sheltered by their parents and denied certain information because their parents have not deemed them mature enough to learn such information yet, but that's children. Adults are a different matter entirely.
Why do you care what some person who has nothing to do with you does with their private sexual life? Who gives a damn what someone else's sexual orientation is? So long as they aren't trying to force themselves onto you (this applies to both straights and gays) and aren't hurting anyone then...
I agree that we don't need to keep our opinions silent to accommodate people, but there is at least some amount of tact that needs to be used. We don't need to offend people simply for the sake of being able to offend them, that's just stupid, rude, and juvenile.
I've already mentioned Maslow's Hierarchy of needs on this forum but I'm going to make reference to it again. Sex is on the very first level of what people need in life, right next to breathing and eating. Sex is natural and everyone needs it. Ethically people say sex is a bad thing that only...
I'm pretty sure that made my day Quagmire.
I agree with you, we hide behind freedom of speech and religion so that we can't say what we truly want to say which is sometimes a nice big "F*** off!"
The reason there is torture is because the God(s) that created humans allotted the the right to chose what they do. Free will is something everyone has and it can't be taken away by anyone. Choice is what allows people to harm their fellow humans but its also what allows them to be generous and...
The soul is the mental realization of self in every human being. The reason I think everyone has a unique soul is because no one person can be exactly identical to any other person, not even twins. No one can experience the same things or feel the exact same way about things. the soul is special...
Acting on free speech is different from having free speech. Just because you can say it, doesn't mean you can do it. If everyone did everything they said they were going to do nothing would exist. The fact that some people are immature and juvenile enough to harm another person because they...
I don't think God hates gay people. God would be a big *** hypocrite if he hated gay people because he wants us to love everyone. Really, why would a supreme being lower itself to such petty emotions as hate? Isn't he a little too busy making sure the world keeps spinning and we don't kill every...
Humans need love because humans are social creatures and every single one of us (barring defect) has the ingrained biological need to be loved. On Maslow's hierarchy of human needs love is third in the step ladder, surpassed only by the need for base human function (such as eating drinking and...
