Things run in cycles. I can remember periods of bashing of different religions throughout RF's history, including Islam, Judaism, LDS, Mystics, UUs and Catholicism. LDS have probably suffered the worst of it, but Muslims definitely run a close second.

Again in my experience, women are more willing to accept the existence of something greater than themselves, be it societal, theological or scientific.

Mate you're asking questions no-one can answer. Zenzero has enough sense and humility to tell you the truth, noone knows, noone can know and noone will know the answer to these questions. The answer is not in the knowing.
Meditation is in no way shape or form mainstream enough to be accepted into the education system here. I agree that it is beneficial though. There are many beneficial things out there, if we included them all we'd be in school til we were 300... Meditation does not always get called meditation...
