First off, we don't call it the sharia.
As to why it's needed, I quote the Baha'i scriptures:
CVI "Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. The remedy the world needeth in its present-day afflictions can never be the same as that which a subsequent age may...
>Are prophets sinless, infallible people?
Propets aren't, no.
God-sent Divine Messengers are (and are also more than just ordinary "people").

Before you rush to claim this, you should read The God of Buddha by J. Fozdar, as well as noting the following quotes from the Buddhist scriptures:
"There is, O monks, an Unborn, Unoriginated, Uncreated, Unformed. Were there not, O monks, this Unborn, Unoriginated, Uncreated, Unformed, there...
Very simply, my point holds: you get a better answer (as you did from Art) if you ask a better question, something you had NOT done with the post to which I replied!
Nor did you address my point that your supposedly Christian doctrine directly contradicts a clear statement in the Jewish...
They dovetail well with it, and even go on to explain various ambiguities.
You can read them yourself and see this at these sites:
Bahá'í Library Online (click "Writings" for our scriptures)
Baha'i Reference Library (this site is multilingual)

Meaning no offense, the terms are no more difficult than are commonly found in Christianity, the King James version of the Bible being a prime example!

CG, your list of objections amounts to a random collection of topics that are almost hopelessly mixed together.
Some of it accurately describes us, some of it has nothing to do with Baha'i belief, and some assertions don't even agree with Christian doctrine if we stipulate that the Jewish...
While I have my personal opinions, I'm not here to advocate or condemn any particular subgroup of Christianity. I'll simply say that as Baha'is, we accept Christianity in general as legitimate and God-sent, as we likewise do many other religions.
I also agree with Arthra's statements above...
Baha'is disagree: we stipulate that He did indeed die (and our scriptures have an explanation for the Qur'anic statement that apparently says otherwise), as other God-sent Divine Messengers have also been put to death (we know of one other for sure).

Bruce
In addition to many other tests and proofs, there's the famous Biblical test:
"By their fruits ye shall know them."
along with the specific list of fruits in Galatians!

So sorry, but this entire thread title is simply ridiculous!
Forgiveness without bloodshed happens all the time, all over the world--and this should be obvious to everyone.
Now if you want to speak of it in a narrow theological sense, then that can be debated. But even for that, I'm hardly...
[/LIST] 1. According to the Baha'i Faith, our purpose here is twofold:
· As individuals we are to acquire the spiritual virtues we'll need both here and in the Next Life.
· In aggregate, we're to carry forward an ever-advancing, spiritually-based civilization.
And the purpose of...
Many are, though we don't even consider some groups to be religions, such as Shintoism (a secular philosophy IOV).
There are indeed at least nine still-living religions we know of today, plus a number of now-extinct ones.
The progression is overall, and not always explicit at the time...
