    Atheist, Theists, & Intimate Deists

It's small minded to just blame the abrahamic religions for causing all of the wars and injustices in the world, therefore creating predjudices. If you look hard enough you will find wars and atrocities carried out by eastern peoples of those religions you are so biased towards. Also, were the...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

You are assuming that I have strong views that I want to teach in schools?? I don't believe I have stated this, in fact my views are a constant 'work in progress' and I don't pretend to 'know everything', it is against my principles. Ok honey, thanks for the heads up ;)

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

I would like to thank you for your posts on this thread Autodidact. You have made a lot of sense and the method you used to convey your views has been ultra-effective for me, its much nicer than sarcasm or constant correction without any real feedback which one finds an awful lot here on the...

Scientists Create Building Block for Life - God Not Required

Doesn't the scientific community do just the same thing? Religion is about life not about being stuck in a time warp. It makes sense, why wouldn't they.

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

I'm not sure this argument is relevant to the thread so won't continue on the subject after this. I do think you are showing your bias toward atheism here, putting all of the blame on creationists who are entirely entitled to their point of view without being accused of 'provoking' arguments. I...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

I'd better define my meaning of 'spiritual' for this thread before it gets swamped by 'what does spiritual mean'. I refer to spiritual as being the incorporeal side of man, the side that contradicts the concept of a simple material existence. The desire to ‘rise above’ the...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

Are you serious? I think you are being unfare here. Also, you can't pidgeon hole creationists so easily, there are many variations of this concept. Some believe in the whole of evolution and still think it was the act of creation, some only believe in natural selection and reject the...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

If we all thought like this then there would be very little philosophy, art, passion, personality and colour and our education would be severely stunted. We would not be who we are today if we hadn't tried to find meaning in our lives. I didn't say this, you did and I fail to see the relevance...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

I'm not asking science to answer these question, I fully recognise that it can't. I'm contemplating the idea that some people have about evolution; which is that it 'proves' that there is no god, which of course it can't do. Some people believe it does and so it is to them I ask how this...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

Ok, I'll try tonight to explain what I mean. Spiritual to me is the belief that there is more to life than just to survive, that there is an extra dimension to our beings, our spirituality. I don't believe evolution is capable of giving us this invisible quality. It is the opposite of what...

Ants are amazing, bee's too. Totally facinating populations.

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

When I say God, for me it encompasses the spiritual side of my nature. I have no idea who are what that God is and I don't belong to any religion but my own, viewed from my own perspective. A creator God could be far more complex and dynamic than the one people see via the old testament because...

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

I don't discount the fact that god may have created us via evolution, I do believe he created the whole universe and all its complexities, I suppose I was wondering how such a mind as a human's could evolve without any spiritual input and I suppose that is a question for the atheists amongst us.

Does the human mind reflect spirituality or atheism?

Ok guys, I’ve been contemplating this whole thing about evolution verses creation and the truth is, I just don’t know. I do understand natural selection and obviously this is truth but the idea that we could have evolved from nothing, with no meaning or purpose just doesn't ring true for me...

    Does DNA prove intelligent design?

Thank you painted wolf. I appreciate your honesty and views :)

    Does DNA prove intelligent design?

Painted Wolf, would it be ok to ask what are your beliefs regarding the creator and if you think he puposed us to be here, and why. I would find it interesting to know this from the perspective of a biologist and to know if you believe there is any intelligence involved in our design. :)
