yeah, my 12 year old does not know about these things and does not need to know yet. We are teaching him about sexuality as we go and as appropriate.

More likely: he's learned quite a bit from his friends (though a lot of it incorrect) and just knows better than to let you in on this fact.

Age-appropriate education for kids that age (e.g. proper names for body parts, "good touches" vs. "bad touches", the fundamentals of consent) are technically considered part of the sex ed curriculum here.
