If all the Bibles in the world today got burned, does God cease to be? NO!!!

God exists way above and beyond X pages of the Bible. Which isn't to down put the Bible, but to remember the majesty that is God. The Bible is understood through God, testified of it's truths by God, a disciple is lead by God, saved by God etc. Believing the Bible without direct testimony from Him ... empty. There's no salvation or actual faith development behind that. To just refer to the Bible only the Bible... is really missing the purpose of the Bible (which is to point people to God Himself). The core of Christianity is not to believe a text, but to believe in & follow Christ Himself.

Please tell me about YOUR relationship with God directly. Not regurgitating a text. Your own words and experience.
*bumping this question for @Barry Johnson *

How do you know ABOUT Jesus apart from Scripture ?
You ask Him. The living Christ whom answers prayers.
How did you know how to be saved apart from scripture? How do you know how to live as a believer apart from scripture. And for the fourth time, What is the gosepl ?
Scripture itself does NOT save you.

Christ Himself and He alone saves.
What is the gosepl ?
The Good News: salvation through Jesus Christ.

Now, if you have a relationship[ with Jesus Christ, please tell me about it. Not your love of a book. Your relationship with the actual person Jesus Christ. This is an elementary question for any Christian.

Berry, I’ve been beyond patient with you. And I'm done asking for answers you either don't have or don't want to give (about your own relationship with Christ). So I'm going to move on from that question.

I am scientist and extreme investigator into any truth claims. For me, the ultimate source of Truth is asking God directly. I am a Christian, and the Living Jesus Christ is my Lord & Savior. All claims of truth I investigate go through many tests, the ultimate being asking God directly. Humans are not my savior. No text is my savior. I do not worship any text or man, nor hold them up on a pedestal. Every fiber of my being goes to God for final test.

Through relationships with other people and being taught by believers.
Just in a specific few verses .
More than “a specific few,” I’m afraid.

My original point was that Jesus regularly would quote scripture. Your point is irrelevant because Christians shouldn't be going around saying " but I say to you " . There's a reason Jesus has the authority to say such a thing.

And the Bible says that Jesus gave all authority to us. We all weigh scripture (if we’re conscientious)
