Commandments by Christ.

This as well I've explained to you, he was saying in other words "You misunderstand what eye for an eye means, it doesn't mean you have to always strike back and try to avenge yourself in all situations". It wasn't a total call against any form of "resistance". When it says "Do not resist an evildoer", the word "Resist" should be read as "take revenge". It does not mean "Allow yourself to be maimed or assaulted or killed no matter what"[/quot]

He says to bless them. You dont bless anyone by killing them.

And I tell you what, find any account that Jesus or His disciples harmed or killed anyone for self defense. You cannot find it because they did not do it.

Jesus and His first disciples' behavior is good example for all His followers to imitate.

Again, the context of that passage is not about your enemies in war or those who are out to SERIOUSLY harm you, the message is about petty violators, those who slap you, those who use their authority to compel you to carry something for them for a mile, those who want to sue you, etc.

Notice how none of those examples given are for people who want to seriously harm you.

Now again, I say unto you, your interpretation means you should allow people to assault your children while you stand back and do nothing.

We don't need to see examples of Jesus hurting anyone or his Disciples (Except Peter of course), just because the text doesn't say something about it doesn't mean you should NEVER use violence. There are many things the NT doesn't provide examples for.

Notice how I gave "Scare them" as an example?

What do YOU think he did with it?

How about overturning their tables? Wouldn't that count as aggression on their property?

And you are saying it is the same as killing people?

good grief.

Jesus is perfect servant of His Father, what He showed was righteous anger. And above all, He did not kill anyone even though He was very angry.

No I'm not saying it's the same thing as killing.

I'm pointing out that it still involves aggression, intimidation and destruction of property, even if we don't know if used the whip on them.

So then, perhaps Righteous Anger could very well involve at least subduing people with force.

Good try, but it does not cut it all as reading within whole messages of "love".

You are disregarding just about emerying I am saying.

Your reasoning is all out of context of Jesus' whole messages of "love".

You will understand what Jesus is saying if you read whole message of "love your enemy".

How about you answer my question, as I've already read the whole message of "love your enemy", apparently moreso than yourself since I have to explain to you the details of the Eye for an eye issue.

Here you go, shermana:

Here is what Jesus has to say:Luke 6:27-36 King James Version)

27But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32For if ye love them which love you what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34And if ye to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Fatheralso is merciful.

and some more:

Matthew 26:52
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

And His faithful disciple harmonize with Jesus' word:

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 corinthian 10:4-5)

Romans 12:17-21
17Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

II Corinthians 10:3,4
"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds."

Ephesians 6:12
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Did you not understand what I meant when I said that all the examples listed are petty insults and slaps and lawsuits that aren't life threatening?

So when would you like to share to the class on whether you can protect your child from predators with force or not? So far it seems you've wanted to avoid that question on numerous occasions.

Also, you never addressed my question about

Matthew 26:52
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

in the other post. Why are there people who have fought in wars yet lived and died without being shot or related to war wounds?

I explained that Jesus was saying to not use the sword in an unjustified matter, but you merely skipped the issue when I brought this up.

It seems that you are not interested in what Jesus says. It is clear.

I am done arguing childishly, repeating the same thing over and over..

It seems you are not interested in answering the question on whether you think one can use force to protect their child, or on why there are people who have fought in wars who did not die related to war wounds, or the actual context of what Jesus meant in the eye for an eye issue and how none of his examples involved life threatening issues.

You are right that you have been arguing childishly, repeating the same thing over and over rather than address the counter arguments.

Give me everything you own, Meshek. I'll take it on paypal.

What say you?

Why should I? do you know that I have many other responsibility too? Do you think Jesus wants me to abandon the other just because you say so?

I already told you you have to reason within context. Jesus also said pluck your eye if that causes you to lust. Jesus did not mean literally do it. He is saying to avoid sin at all cost.

I already told you that Jesus uses a lot of hyperboles too. And you keep repeating the same kind of arguments.

Oh what's that? You mean you don't want to follow what Jesus says and give to anyone who asks you? You mean there's exceptions and context and hyperboles at stake?

You clearly aren't interested in what Jesus says!
