No, the problem was that he started conflict and hostilities over a normal local custom and social norm of the country he is in. He treated his neighbor as though he deliberately committed some grave offense even though his behavior is considered acceptable and polite in that country. It would be like someone going to a muslim country and then throwing a fit and complaining because the local stores don't sell beer and bacon and then demand that it be sold.

you and i would probably agree on this one particular incident but Western people rather complaint about nations they have never been before and they rather talk about 'odds' of Muslims in their nations than non-Muslims who's not appear to be any better.

...You don't get to define the OP, you don't get to define what I mean by "all hell breaking loose" either. I explained it. There doesn't have to be death threats to constitute "all hell breaking loose".
...

The OP has nothing to do with Jews (but does feature death threats). You are the one who brought Jews into the topic by innuendo and slur.

...I'm reminded of situations where a female shakes a Hassidic rabbi's hand and then all hell breaks loose...

If I came on this thread and said "ya, those XYZ people, they act the same way, especially their religious leaders" then I should not be surprised when RF members who are XYZ find my post insulting and post an objection. Even more-so, when it's not true.

Everyone: there is no doubt that every society and culture has extremists, 'crazies' and yes, jealous husbands. It's stupid to stereotype or generalize that culture or society based on the actions of those individuals. Especially, when it's simply false.

no, they are not. yet you only have Islam and Muslims on your daily menu.

Well, the individual in the OP article was coincidentally a Muslim. But regardless of ones religion or nationality, when you immigrate to another country you should try to integrate into or at least respect the local culture rather than create hostilities and conflict with the locals over their own accepted customs and social norms. Do you think starting a fight over an innocent and friendly greeting is a reasonable reaction? It would be like someone visiting your local mosque but refusing to take of their muddy shoes because they always wear shoes indoors in their home country.

As noted earlier, the koran really doesn’t espouse such a thing (unless justice/equality has been redefined since I last checked them), but that’s irrelevant.
You didn't read the article, then. I wasn't sure.

Peace be with you, as they say.

You didn't read the article, then. I wasn't sure.
Two things:
1) I had read the article before as I had been linked it on YT.
2) Did you miss where I quoted from it and commented on it (albeit briefly)?

Or should I ignore where the article doesn’t reflect the koran and even acknowledges that the Muslim world doesn’t shares its interpretation? Seeing as how I was responding to attitudes in this thread and all?

Who here doesn't condemn and denounce the inhumane abuse of detainees? Who here has tried to excuse, condone or justify such crimes? Do two wrongs (especially two totally unrelated wrongs) make a right?

who here won't remember what Western did and DOES and make sure you never forget or never spend a day without hearing about what some Muslims do again and again and again?

None of this has anything to do with what I was talking about earlier (which now explains why I was necessarily confused by your response in #193 (thanks for clearing that up)). You are correct, though, that the article acknowledges that. It's not relevant to what I was talking about.

But the unjustified Iraqi war and the criminal abuses of Abu Gharib have been already been debated and denounced to death on this board. Also the U.S. is often at odds with the rest of the western world so you cannot cluster them all together when it comes to attitudes, actions and ideology. And how is "The West" as a whole to blame for the Israeli vs. Palestine conflict? Those perpetuating the violence are the ones with the weapons in their hands (or strapped to their chest, as the case may be).
