Do people still believe everyone decended from Adam and Eve?

The fact is maam, we are here, and the mountains are here, and we and they came from somewhere. I have no doubt that one day opinions will be revealed for truth or fiction.
We know where mountains came from and how they were formed. The day has already came that reveals Genesis to be fiction. Now you very likely to not know where mountains came from. You probably do not understand the scientific method and I can guarantee that you do not understand the concept of evidence. As a result you probably think that because you do not know that no one knows. This is an error, and a rather arrogant one.

Very good, Then the fact that you do not have to worry about waking up in a seedy motel room on the wrong side of town in a bathtub full of ice and missing a kidney refutes the version of the Adam and Eve myth that you believe in,

If evolution wouldn't people have married close relatives? Whether we came from evolution or Adam and Eve, our origins are the same.

They would not have had to. Why do you think that they would have had to do so?

There is a saying that you need to learn: "Populations evolve, not individuals". Small changes accumulate in populations. Have you looked at how languages evolve? It is very similar. The first step in two languages forming is separation. Take France and Spain. They spoke Latin at one point. After the Roman Empire fell the lines of communication were broken, The barrier of the Pyrenees was enough to keep the two populations apart. Over the years small changes accumulated until the point where people that spoke French no longer understood the language of those in Spain. The same thing happens with species except that they do separate to the point where they can no longer breed with each other. That is evolution.

Jacob in the Bible married his cousins.

If there are small changes that are too small to notice, that by definition means that they are also gray areas and intermediates related to the moments in time where its impossible to notice those changes because they overlap.

And one of these ideas is massively supported by evidence and the other has none.
While our ancestors have been around for about six million years, the modern form of humans only evolved about 200,000 years ago. Civilization as we know it is only about 6,000 years old, and industrialization started in the earnest only in the 1800s.Jan 19, 2015

Why would any rational thinker believe the one without evidence?
They wouldn't, but for some Christians the Bible is the evidence that trumps science..

Humans have been around for roughly 1 million years. Intermarriage was rather common but by necessity. Tribes stuck together.

The Bible agrees with science. The Bible supports the earth being round.

A circle is round, but flat. The Bible supports that the Earth is a flat circle. The verse that you are alluding to specifically uses terminology that says that the Earth is a flat circle.

I think carbon dating is rather ambiguous and doesn't specifically support the earth being young or old.

Satan took Jesus to mount Tabor. Do you think you can see all the kingdoms of the world from that mountain? Maybe Jesus saw a certain amount of kingdoms in a big vicinity or region.

Carbon dating is only reliable to about 50,000 years +/-. Radiometric dating uses the clock built into rocks.

LOL!! Of course you can't date the earth with carbon dating. It is only accurate going back 50,000 years at the most. You just shouted your ignorance to the clouds. So why should anyone care what you believe?

Of course not, because the Earth is not flat. By the way, the mountain is not named.

Are you sure that you are not trolling? You just sited another verse that says that the Earth is flat. Why would you do that? The Bible says "all of the kingdoms of the Earth". The only way that he could see all of the kingdoms was if the Earth was flat. You keep arguing for a flat Earth and then claim that the Bible is scientific. I wish you would make up your mind.

It's not possible to see all the kingdoms of the world from a place like Mount Everest or Mount Tabor.

The mountain could be mount Tabor because it's the highest mountain in Israel.

Everything in Genesis is a fable

What about Cain's wife? First cousins are relatives but they don't have the close relationship that immediate family has. I think I talked to my cousins a lot when I was younger, so they aren't strangers to the same extent someone who isnt related at all is. I think during the days of Adam and Eve, because they married siblings, siblings didn't have the level of friendship that they do now.
