Do you own the USA? (Closed/open border debate)

Countries are political fictions and ought to be recognized as such.
That's an interesting way to see it, I suppose. No matter how old any country is, it likely started with a kind of power consolidating myth. But besides that, the idea of a planet divided into countries also seems to speak to a practical management question of some kind. No leadership block can stretch its territory beyond a certain point without fragmentation, it seems

But there is absolutely nothing I can do about it now other than treat others the way I'd like to be treated, which is generally how I behave myself.
For myself, I know if I was in a position where immigrating to America was the only option for me to support myself and family, I would hope to be given the opportunity.

Our predecessors could have done better, but they can't now. We can, however. I believe we can do better by allowing the desperate immigrants of our times to find opportunities in the USA, just as our ancestors were once immigrants to this great land.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
So, you are not descended from Native Americans if I understand you correctly.

Do you suppose that colonizers are "Native"?

I don't know your race, but @Kathryn , who is agreeing with you, appears to have descended from the Europe area, given the complexion of skin (if that is her in her profile picture.). So I direct this directly towards her now.

You are not Native American (well, correct me if you descended from Native Americans). Europeans colonized the Native Americans. That does not make you native.
Nope. I'm native to this land so yes, I'm a Native American weither you think so or not. The same applies to anybody and everybody born in this country.

I really don't care whatsoever what you attest to the contrary.

I however I do not claim to be of any of the indigenous nations who were there before my ancestors arrived , which is the difference nor would I ever steal their culture or their ways. I have my own however , and this is the land of my birth making me native to this land as much as others are.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

I just want a level playing field. Like with other countries.

Since you ignored my post, I’ll say it again: You’re not a Native American; you’re a native American.

I would like your perspective on what a "level playing field" is in regards to immigration.

Are you saying that most countries don't have open borders so the USA shouldn't either?

Yes. We need to know who is in our country.
