Does The Bible Contain Errors And Contradictions

That only gives us Isaiah as scripture at best. What about Genesis, a book that we know is a collection of morality tales at best. Is it "true" because of the morals of the tales?
Is it true that biblical morals do Not work________
' Isaiah at best ' Interesting that you say that because Isaiah is a favorite of mine, a best of mine, to which to refer.
Once asked which OT writer would you like to meet ? My answer was Isaiah
I find Isaiah paints a lot of beautiful paradisical word pictures for us about the coming wonder-filled future
Also, dearest Jesus referred back to Isaiah

................what it is exactly that Jesus was referring to when He says scripture Post #1083
Jesus was referring back to the OT Isaiah 61 such as found at Luke 4:15-20
Here are some from Matthew
Matt. 4:4 connects to Deuteronomy 8:3
Matt. 4:7 to Deut. 6:16
Matt. 4:10 to Deut. 6:13; Deut. 10:20
Matt. 11:10 to Malachi 3:1
Matt. 21:13 to Isaiah 56:7 and Jeremiah 7:11
Matt. 26:31 to Zechariah 13:7

Even Jesus' mother Mary referred back to the OT I think was about 20 times

You really think the currently accepted 66 book collection referred to as the Bible is "harmonious"?
Is "being harmonious" a requirement for being considered "scripture"?
What interesting questions ^ above ^ because we should know why harmonious should be a requirement
Because the Bible is chock full of corresponding cross-reference verses and passages is a reason why Jesus could logically base his teachings on the old Hebrew Scriptures. Without harmony Jesus could Not have done that for us

So you do not know the "exactly" part?
Does anyone?
Since the Bible does Not read like a novel, then for a start a comprehensive concordance helps put the Bible in ABC order for us by taking one subject or one topic at a time we can research each subject or topic thus we can get to know the 'exactly' parts

The scrolls were evidently opened and read in the synagogues in Jesus' day.
OK, well, let's see. Jesus did not say he was God. To say he was the son of God was not taken lightly by his opposers, because that put him in a different position from simply being another religious person.
Yes, I too find in the gamla synagogues were centered life for Scripture or the 'custom' with Scripture read there - Luke 4:16
Yes, Jesus answered clearly and truly as to who he was at John 10:36 the 'Son of God'
Interesting too as to who else believed that Jesus was the 'Son of God' according to Luke 4:41 ______________

Yes, 'Not a cult' as we can research at www.jw.org
Do you not realize that is a JW source? What you did is the same as going to an accused murderer and letting that person give you "proof" that he did not do it. To be reliable you need a neutral source. The accused cannot be a neutral source. You did not refute anything with that.

I do not want to debate the issue since that can be a no no here. I am merely pointing out how you failed to show that it is not a cult.

I was thinking the same thing.

Jesus read from the scroll of Isaiah at the synagogue.

Just to add that, I get, all Pauline denominations 45000+ of them say to one another a "cult" (as a snub), so in this sense, one could say, that they are all "cults"; and also since none of them follows (Jesus)Yeshua- the truthful Israelite Messiah in his deeds as well his truthful teachings, so they are all "cults", right, please?

Regards

The compilers of the Bible got to pick and choose from all the writings and they still failed to put together a "harmonious" collection...

Depends upon how one defines the word "cult"...

Cult definition.JPG

Seems to me that ALL theologies can be considered a "cult".
Honestly, it seems to me the only reason the word is not correctly used is because it hurts to many peoples feelings.
