It depends on the Christian you ask. Either way you're still dealing with a punishment levied for thoughtcrime. I find that idea totally repugnant.
And where did they (Christians who believe that there is an eternal fiery hell) get that idea?
Was if from their Pastor?
Was it from their reading of the bible?
Was it from general consensus?
If the bible scriptures doesn't really support the doctrine of an eternal fiery hell, then aren't those Christians who espouse that doctrine badly mistaken?
Not only are they badly mistaken, but they also spread false doctrines.
I would that those Christians study the bible carefully and critically to really determine what it actually teaches.
I too find that idea of torturing a poor soul forever in an eternal fiery hell, totally repugnant. It is NOT what the bible really teaches. Those Christians are badly mistaken.
