He is just being used as an example. I could choose anyone that doesn't seem to be attractive. If he is intelligent, would you consider him to be sexy?

Unless you contend that all intelligent people are physically attractive, it is beyond the point to prove any given individual is intelligent.

Intelligence is a basic, minimum requirement for me to find any man worthy of a date. It's not the only factor. I'm also fond of wit, gentleness, charm, creativity, poise, self-confidence, consideration for others, the "disheveled mop of black hair + scarf" combo, well-groomed beards, good health, independence, multilingualism, good dress sense, non-theism, a philosophical nature, sincerity, integrity, physical demonstrativeness, boldness, courage, literacy, vulnerability, nice pecs, soft skin, socialism and the ability to play a musical instrument.

If the guy in the picture had several of these qualities in addition to intelligence, chances are I would find him attractive enough to warrant a date.

Intelligence IS sexy all by itself, but the degree of sexiness depends on how the intelligence is expressed. The likes of Tom Waits and Kurt Vonnegut have incredibly sexy brains as far as I'm concerned. The likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, not so much.

My fiance is one of those guys. He's not afraid of smart women at all. Some of my former boyfriends (usually not the very smart ones) really struggled to come to terms with my IQ. In general, men like to feel that their opinions carry a lot of weight with their partners. Tragically, stupid people tend to come up with stupid opinions.

My main contention is that 'Intelligence is not sexy to the point all one needs is to have a lot of it to be considered sexy'.

No single character trait does that... Which has been, and continues to be, my point from the beginning.

Looks may get you a date... but if your personality clashes with your date, you're not likely getting another. No amount of blaming the other person is going to change that.

Looks may get you a first date, but if she thinks your a jerk then no amount of it will get you date #2.

And drooling over a guy and actually wanting a relationship with him... are two very different things.

I may think Neil deGrasse Tyson is hothothot but that doesn't mean I want to date him or even necessarily meet him.

I agree... I was just using the scientists to counter the "gawky nerd" stereotype of intelligence.

Intelligence isn't a test score. I used to game with a MENSA group and some of them, despite having "high IQs" were still what I would still classify as "dumb as a stump".

And one of my friends who works in a kitchen as a prep cook is one of the most intelligent guys I know. No PhD needed.
