I wonder if anybody has ever noticed that theocracy actually means (from the Greek θεοκρατία (theocratia)) means "the rule of God".
But in actual practice, everywhere in the world it is (or has ever been) practiced means "the rule of people who suppose that they speak for God."

For the record, if you were including me in that statement, I am not 'on the right.' I am a (Christian) socialist / borderline communist. I will hold my nose and vote for Biden only because I vote mainly on environmental issues and we just can't afford to have Trump in office again.

Looking at current affairs and how we operate as a nation, it would appear that individual states are being given greater power according to their majorities as opposed to broad brushing all 50 with federal enforcement. This isn't a bad idea, actually. It has been on the rise for quite some time with other issues like cannabis laws. This is the direction the majorities have chosen. It also helps to identify between red and blue states, among other specifics. It's like deciding where to go on your next vacation.

That is not even the Ten Commandments. The only list in the Bible that was called the Ten Commandments in the Bible is this one:
"12 Do not make any treaties with the people of the country into which you are going, because this could be a fatal trap for you. 13 Instead, tear down their altars, destroy their sacred pillars, and cut down their symbols of the goddess Asherah.
14 “Do not worship any other god, because I, the Lord, tolerate no rivals. 15 Do not make any treaties with the people of the country, because when they worship their pagan gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you to join them, and you will be tempted to eat the food they offer to their gods. 16 Your sons might marry those foreign women, who would lead them to be unfaithful to me and to worship their pagan gods.
17 “Do not make gods of metal and worship them.
18 “Keep the Festival of Unleavened Bread. As I have commanded you, eat unleavened bread for seven days in the month of Abib, because it was in that month that you left Egypt.
19 “Every first-born son and first-born male domestic animal belongs to me, 20 but you are to buy back every first-born donkey by offering a lamb in its place. If you do not buy it back, break its neck. Buy back every first-born son.

When he came out, he would tell the people of Israel everything that he had been commanded to say, 35 and they would see that his face was shining. Then he would put the veil back on until the next time he went to speak with the Lord."Please note that notes elsewhere in the Bible are like the bold section above. They were added much later to make the Bible clearer to the reader. The list that I gave would also be the list that was in the Ark of the Covenant. Moses was over 80 when he came down from the mountain. Both of our candidates have shown that their memory is not that good at that age. I would go with the list written down by God.

Guess what, that was before the Constitution as well.
You are aware that according to the authors of the 1st Amendment that it was written to provide a wall between church and state. If you go by original intent you cannot beat the testimony of the people that wrote it.
