Pat Robertson says Haiti under a Curse

Fortunately, that's not the only study that's been done.
Right, there have been dozens of studies done. Some seem to confirm the benefit of prayer, some indicate that there is no effect, and a few like the one Skeptisch cited actual indicate a harmful effect. But there has been no consistent data and there have been no results that can’t be explained as simple statistical variation. The idea that “patients who are prayed for improve more quickly” is simply unsupported.

To be considered valid a scientific study must be repeatable.

What hasn't been said is that what happened in Haiti was a natural disaster. I could have happened anywhere- including in the USA. In fact, we have had awful earthquakes. Just a few years ago, right here in San Diego East County (where I live) was devastated by wild fires. I don't recall anyone saying that we were under a curse, or that God caused the wild fires. A lot of people lost their homes, whether they were good people or not so good people was never questioned- they were given shelter. God did not cause that earthquake, He did not cause other earthquakes, or volcano eruptions, or wild fires, hurricanes, floods, etc. They are natural disasters.
And even Jesus said the rain would fall on both the guilty and the innocent.

ChristineES, couldn’t we say that anybody who believes we can suspend the laws of nature by praying is under a curse? That curse is called blind faith and ignorance.

Curse – a severe affliction
Ignorance – the lack of knowledge or education
Faith - a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny

I agree, to a point. I suppose it depends on a few variables, such as what is considered "prayer?" and what constitutes the "suspension of the laws of nature?" I have witnessed, personally, spiritual healing take place. Did it constitute a "suspension of natural law?" (The healer was obviously praying.)

Prayer is a tricky thing. It's not like rubbing a magic lamp and making a wish. It's more about bringing us into alignment with God.

Okay, now you've lost me completely (not a hard thing to do I'll admit), but really! What are you talking about?

these events have a strange way of falling on days when only 123 is involved
9 /11 even can be used as 00,112001 if the 9 is used as a 0

HMMMM?
Jan = 1
Feb = 2
Mar = 3

5+5=10 and if we pretend that the fives are actually another number we come up with 123.

WOW makes for perfect :faint::faint:logic:faint::faint:
