God was a character devised by a corrupt Egyptian King. Check this out this:

That is an interesting take. I never thought of the oldest stories in the Bible dating back to the Egyptians, it's an interesting thought.

I wonder how compatible with these ideas it is?

The theory starts with this video...

Yes, that is what happens to our bodies, but we are not bodies, we are souls, and souls are eternal.
That is a claim that is not at all in evidence.
The evidence suggests that what you call "soul" is in fact the neural network that exists in our brain. And which disentegrates along with the body.

Yes the soul is a combination of what you are and be. It's what you take with you into dreams and psychedelic trips. At death a molecule of some kind puts you into a dream state and your emotions, thoughts and memories are all present. The molecule, probably dmt, elongates seconds into eons. Then you merge into spacetime, into nothingness.

I understand that is what you believe, but @Trailblazer and I believe differently.

Ultimately, one's beliefs about what happens after death are deeply personal and influenced by cultural, religious, and philosophical factors. It is an existential question that has puzzled humanity for centuries, and while there are numerous theories and beliefs, there is no definitive answer that can be universally proven or accepted.

Jesus in me
I have a hunch, and it comes from NDEs, dreams which are induced by endogenous (natural; to the body) psychedelic compound(s). NDEs are Near Death Experiences. What's very typical of these is the coming to all light which one follows into a great dream. At near death and death molecules of the chemical repsoniosble for dreaming are released. Now the chemicals repsonsible for dreaming, diemethyltriptamine, elongates mere seconds into eons of actual time to the end user. It's just all in the brain. Eventually the trip comes to a close and one becomes, body and soul (everything you are and experience, even memories) simply fades out and becomes one with Nothingness.
Can it be proven the chemicals produce the deaming rather than the dreaming producing the chemicals?

Jesus in me
My dad told me his experience with NDEs. He was mugged and left for dead with a broken skull. In a coma for 6 weeks and actually died 3 times. Thanks to the medical staff he was brought back from death.

To this day, although very grateful for the medical expertise he received, he is absolutely certain he is only alive because his god is a lousy poker player.
I suppose one can always ask for a new deal if you don't like your cards.

I suppose one could accept the testimony from one who came down from Heaven but many do not.

There is no evidence for the soul, since the soul is beyond human understanding, so what you call evidence is not evidence for the soul.

“Thou hast asked Me concerning the nature of the soul. Know, verily, that the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to unravel. It is the first among all created things to declare the excellence of its Creator, the first to recognize His glory, to cleave to His truth, and to bow down in adoration before Him. If it be faithful to God, it will reflect His light, and will, eventually, return unto Him. If it fail, however, in its allegiance to its Creator, it will become a victim to self and passion, and will, in the end, sink in their depths...” Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 158-159

the claim that Jesus ascended from heaven lacks empirical evidence, making it difficult to establish its occurrence with certainty. While the concept holds immense significance within Christian theology, its historical veracity remains a matter of faith rather than a proven fact.

I believe that the soul of Jesus descended from heaven, but His body was born on earth.
I do not believe that the body of Jesus ascended to heaven in the clouds, I believe His soul ascended to heaven, clouded by human misunderstanding.

Smells like a cop-out.
In any case, without evidence, why believe it?

, so what you call evidence is not evidence for the soul.

There not being any evidence for souls is an observation that is very much consistent with there not being anything like a soul.

However, we do have lots of evidence of the neural network in the brain, which provides a material basis for what people try to abstract with the word "soul".

I’d like my physical remains to be taken back up into the biosphere, preferably in my garden. I think that the energy/quantum fields which gave rise to this form will participate in new forms.

Couldn’t possibly answer the poll question. Who the heck knows? When I’m no longer me, how could ‘I’ have any kind of fate whatsoever?

No worries. Maybe one day you'll be interested in science, find the right science, and see where you're pointed to. Have a pleasant day!
maybe one day I'll twist my brain and guts around to figure out "spacetime." Have a good one. I have other things to do.

There is evidence, but not the kind of evidence you want. The evidence is how the soul manifests itself in human thought and behavior.
There not being any objective evidence for souls is an observation that is very much consistent with the soul being an immaterial entity.
The soul works through the brain and mind, but it is not something you can see or measure.
However, we do have lots of evidence of the neural network in the brain, which provides a material basis for what people try to abstract with the word "soul".
However, how the brain and mind actually work remains a mystery.

Scientists have known for centuries that the brain is the seat of human thought, but we're still in the dark about how it works. Mar 15, 2022

I believe that the workings of the brain is a mystery because the soul is responsible for the workings of the brain and the soul is a mystery.

You wish will probably come true. The 1st law of thermodynamics tells us that the energy / mass of your body will continue forever. Just ss your body is made of recycled atoms then future bodies will also be made of recycled atoms. In that way we are all made of dead people

As well as dead stars of course. Everything is grist for the mill.
