can a robot evoke an array of emotional responses (from sexual arousal to jealousy) to other robots like this?

What is "Free Will" that it becomes more illusory with more options?Free Will Becomes More And More Illusory With The More Options We Have To "Choose" From, And With Less Knowledge Of Them, Their Number, And The Reasoning Behind Them.
You are moving the goalposts.
poetry, story telling, singing, playing an instrument are abstract expressionshow about a robot that can create abstract art that evokes an emotional or intellectual response?
Why aren't we robots? We have several dozen systems that work in the background go regulate homeostasis, like a robot would if it was capable of similar functions, and we are each autonomous. Really the only real difference between ourselves and machines are that we have sentience and we are made of carbon, not silicon.
koldo, perhaps you missed this post...
poetry, story telling, singing, playing an instrument are abstract expressions
robots are not capable of doing such things....
all robots being equal...
all robots would come to the same conclusion at the same time, learn at the same rate
this is not the case.
I didn't miss that post. I was just picking up the link of a video:
The Originals Factory, A Robot That Makes Abstract Paintings
It is completely possible to build robots that do these things.
All humans being equal, under the same conditions, would come to the same conclusion and learn at the same rate. So?
It is completely possible to build robots that do these things.

and is that the reality or our situation? no.
hence the premise of this thread is moot, not to mention pointless.
no it is not.
"in the style of the American abstract expressionism movement."
The Originals Factory is a work in progress fusing together and questioning digital, mechanic and plastic approaches to art, abstraction and originality. It is basically a DIY robot, built and programmed to create landscape paintings in the style of American abstract expressionism.
The computer system uses real time video input to control motor movement and pump actions to release paint drops on a large canvas. The drops are then drawn downwards courtesy of gravity, leaving thin colorful line marks.
tell me what robot can create it's own style of abstract art?
maybe you are programmed to think you are sentient
now that would be a cruel joke.
yes i would. because robots are ultimately subjected to OUR knowledge...even though our knowledge is expanding doesn't mean a robot in a 100 yrs from now is anymore than a robot is today.Only if you use a strict definition for 'robots'.
Imagine a very advanced machine built 100 years from now, would you not call it a robot because it can do things our current mechanical robots can't?
It is. We already have machines that can reproduce songs
( computers, for example ), and storytelling robots (
Personal Robotic Storyteller (English version 2) - YouTube ).
You are moving the goalposts once again.
