Teens: Questions about sex? Get them answered.

Who wants to be abstinent? Why should we try to control our sexual desire? The fact is that not everyone agrees with the religious morals that dictate sex outside of marriage is wrong. Abstinence programs attempt to teach religious sexual morality to secular teenagers who don't give a fiddler's fart about religious morals. For the most part, as soon as they get a chance, they're going to go for it. So, do you want these kids to be ignorant and / or misinformed about how to reduce the risks?

It is not the place of public schools to teach morality to kids. Moral instruction is the job of parents. Informing children of facts (like science and history) and teaching them useful skills (like math and the arts) is the job of schools.

Is it true that excessive masturbation may lead to your hands falling off?

Well, good news, I successfully masturbated to ejaculation last night.

Now please tell me that's NOT what sex is going to feel like...
Seriously, the "orgasm" thing (if that's what it was) didn't feel remotely close to "good" or "pleasurable"... all it was was part of me going numb for a second, and feeling a little tingle as the semen comes out, and then feeling a little pain afterwards and feeling like you have to pee for the next 20 minutes (I always have to pee after I ejaculate for some reason o_O). Oh, and also, after ejaculation, your penis is densensitized for a few minutes and can't erect or feel pleasure =/ (this is normal, according to most books I've read, men lose sexual desire immediately after ejaculating).

The whole process of ejaculation wasn't worth my time.

uh.... it gets better I promise....

sex and chicken choking....

yep... just keep going...

sex is generally pathetic first time...

but it gets better....

just keep going.

Consider this, if it wasnt any fun, why would people want to do it...in their millions?
Because it IS enjoyable....

ack well I only have my right hand left....so
You can use a chainsaw to loose them as well, if you like... fact is, a chainsaw would be a much more effective way to loose your hands then masturbation. So, go chainsaw.

(Note that I am not serious here, keep your hand away from chainsaws, lol... I just have a morbid sense of humor :p.)

I never said no one has the will power to be abstinent, I said most do not.
You are correct.
My apologies.

You are also correct that teaching abstinence only using scare tactics does not work.

,,, if you taught both abstinence and safe sex, you would see a dramatic drop in birthrate (especially for teens) in all regions.
How could you possibly know this?
Or are you just making a prediction?

Ooooh - "Why Get Married" Lady looks like she's having fun!!!
where exactly IS his other hand....

It is a personal choice. Believe it or not........there are people who have the willpower to control their sexual desires!

Who said anything about religious morals? You are jumping to conclusions instead of actually reading the post. I certainly have not mentioned any religious reasons to be abstinent. On the basis of being STD free abstinence is 100% effective if practiced.

Why is abstinence viewed as only a moral? Is it now wrong to choose to not have sex? It is simply the only guaranteed way to stay STD free. Who said anything about teaching it in schools? Though if they did I would not object to it. But to be sure, I will teach my kids abstinence and safe sex in my own home......like any responsible parent should. They will make whatever decision they want to make, at least they will be informed and have the ability to choose abstinence or safe sex.

Who's that guy?

Meh, I don't feel like I want to try it again... it felt pretty icky (it felt sorta like an overload of magic or a slight electric current in my pelvis. Basically, it's the feeling I got when that one girl in high school tried to rip my soul out [she failed, by the way], just more intense and in a different area... I don't like it...), and cleaning up semen and having to go to the bathroom for the next 20 minutes takes away from precious sleeping time (I dunno why I didn't think of that before)...

If I could go back and not do it, I would. Being a statistical oddity (3% of males have never masturbated to orgasm, or something like that) would have been more signifigant than the feeling of orgasm (assuming that's what it was).

I think I look at myself kind of differently now. I look in the mirror and feel different. Despite being 100% convinced that masturbation is not a sin in any way whatsoever, it feels sort of like I've lost a part of my virginity. I already know what sex is going to feel like. I know that because of this, my first "real" sexual experience is not going to be nearly as exciting for me as it will be for the woman, and that might strain the relationship slightly. It makes my entire interest in dating seem pointless - I'm going through all this trouble of interacting with women, just because my hormones tell me to so I can feel the "pleasure" of sex eventually? Marriage and sex seem so much less interesting now.

Why not? It's the same movements and the ejaculation is the same. And really, this wasn't just "not pleasurable," it felt BAD, almost (it's hard to remember, since it only lasted two seconds). It's just like a nocturnal emission with an electric current or something running through it. And most people will say that feels "good." If masturbation feels good to most people, and sex is 100 times as "good" as masturbation... then wouldn't sex be a complete nightmare to someone who didn't enjoy the feeling of masturbation?

Besides, if that's the case, I better not masturbate. According to one of my sexual advisors (I think it was Alceste), if I masturbate with hard, fast motions, I might "train" my penis to only ejaculate with hard, fast stimulation, and real sex isn't like that, it's slow and slippery. I only seem to be able to ejaculate with very forceful and quick motions when masturbating, so I don't want to make it worse.

Depends on the scenario. At the moment i have tonsilitis and cannot kiss my girlfriend because i don't want to make her sick. If we were to have sex it would be less pleasing because without kissing its just weird.

Perhaps masturbating makes you feel like you're doing something you shouldn't?

This is very true. A term often used is called "blue balls."

I know masturbating isn't somehow a sin, so that's probably not it. Maybe it's just the knowledge that everything my hormones have demanded that I do is for a meaningless purpose?

I thought "blue balls" was the term for when a girl (or whoever) kept stimulating a boy's penis, and then stopped right before ejaculation, so the orgasm either wouldn't happen or would be painful or signifigantly less pleasurable, or when a girl went through all the sexual foreplay and such with a boy and drove his hormones mad, and then suddenly stopped right before sexual intercourse...

Eh, over here we've always referred to it as jerking yourself stupid and not being able to orgasm at the right times.

Whoosh, right over your head. You don't need willpower to stop yourself from doing things you want to do. Only things you do not want to do. I have sex whenever I want, because I like it. On the other hand, I resist eating nothing but poutine morning, noon and night. THAT takes willpower.

Who said anything about religious morals? You are jumping to conclusions instead of actually reading the post. I certainly have not mentioned any religious reasons to be abstinent. On the basis of being STD free abstinence is 100% effective if practiced.

So is monogamous sex with a person who is STD free.

But to be sure, I will teach my kids abstinence and safe sex in my own home......like any responsible parent should. They will make whatever decision they want to make, at least they will be informed and have the ability to choose abstinence or safe sex.

Well, that strikes me as the right thing to do. Just don't forget the part about safer sex. :)
