Transgenderism

Big boobs, shoulder pain, body didn't feel the right size, higher risk for breast cancer which runs in my family, prevented me from doing swim team which I really wanted to do. Self esteem issues from being so big.

Hormones, lots of physical and psychological distress from irregular and severe menstrual cycles. It plays into ADHD too, since estrogen impacts mood, memory and focus. Having high androgen hormones and not high enough estrogen hormones also impacts digestive stuff like insulin response and water retention.

I know you're going to say 'oh sounds like a lot of physical symptoms,' but I want you to understand that the psychological symptoms (which are also physical symptoms just not ones you can see) were just as severe and relevent impacts on my health.
I would kill to donate my boobs. They nearly choke me when I try to sleep on my back.

There is no brain scan for gender. As I said earlier it's likely way more complicated than that. Just like autism is a neurological disorder but you can't diagnose it with brain scans either.
It needs to be understood that neurological activity is correlated with every human experience, but that is not to mean that correlation = causation. Neurologists are heavily biased to lean in that direction, though. Obviously.

Again, I am agnostic about how much effect the biological / neurological has on gender dysphoria, but to deny the social and subjective aspect completely is a losing position. It is completely short sighted and detached from reality. I would encourage people to pause and rethink continuing in that direction.

No, you have it wrong. Kids aren’t confused. They have an inerrant, innate sense of their neurological makers. At least that’s what I gather from this thread.
I’m not the one who’s confused— you don’t even know WHO you are! — Rafiki

Sounds like you are confused. Kids pick this up much faster.

As I've said before, there is no clear white line between social and neurological/biological in any respects. Environment alters physiology all the time (yay epigenetics and gene switching). And all experience is subjective. Including experiencing pain from a papercut.

What I think is detached from reality is thinking trans people choose to be trans.

Do you get a certificate to confirm, straight from God? No? Then you DON’T.
God is Spirit. If you mean by certificate a piece of paper to confirm; God doesn’t hand out material paper certificates. Instead, He transforms lives through Christ and the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
I know I have been saved, have a transformed life in Christ, and eternal life.

As I’ve said before, gender is an imposed identity. The social influence is part of the imposition.

I do feel the need to push back on people denying the subjective response completely because, like I mentioned, it is spiritually suffocating and untrue to believe that we must identify with what is imposed on us.

Before puberty should be off limits. Puberty brings many changes.
After puberty if Bill still identifies as a Jill or Jill still identifies as a Bill, let them start treatment.

That's my humble opinion of course.
