Trump ordered to pay nearly 355 million in NY fraud case.

It's pathetic of Trump's lovers to deny
his fraud, & the lenders' failure to do
their normal due diligence.
Trump committed crimes that other
people are prosecuted for. He should
not be above the law.
If there was real justice in this world, he would already be in jail. However, from what I recently read, the orange criminal is the first person to have been prosecuted (under the specific law involved here) in which there was no obvious/claimed loss involved. I say apply the law if it applies, which means (based on the submitted evidence) he is guilty as heck.

Yes, people grossly breaking the laws should be worried. Wow!

And those who aren't doing it "grossly", and aren't named Trump?

It is like explaining that two plus two is four sometimes.

Where do you get that? Two plus two can also equal five, in case you haven't heard. 2+2=4 is just a "white" thing that we all need to overcome, and then move on. We're all in this together. Do it for the planet, and for the greater good.

Someone, ANYone who has been convicted of the same thing. Can you show us that?
It was the company that was shown to be breaking the law and certain people were held accountable. It has been used quite a few times before. This article lists four of them. Worse yet it shows how Trump knew that he lied about it never being used before:

If Trump committed crimes that other people are prosecuted for, then why is there no precedent that anyone can point to? Who else was prosecuted and found guilty of what they went after Trump for? And why is Kathy Hochul telling other business owners in NY they they have nothing to worry about? It's doubtful that every single other business in NY has already been investigated and all found innocent.

And it's well known in my business that
such fraud is illegal & strongly sanctioned.
Honest people, & even dishonest people
who don't want to be fined or imprisoned
will avoid fraud.

Have you only recently started following the news or are you very young? I'm not being snarky, your question is odd for an adult, it's as if you're unaware of various high profile fraud cases that have occurred over the past several years.

But assuming you're as uninformed as your question suggests: Yes. Some have done prison in addition to paying fines. And some cases have been far larger (in terms of money) than Trump's.

Like Bernie Madoff, who died in orison. In fact, a comparison was made during Trump's trial:

NY fraud judge asked the AG's lawyers to compare him with Madoff

Some other examples: Enron ($600 million), Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos, $700 million ), Javier Martin-Artajo and Julien Grout (JP Morgan investors $6 billion).

But that does not count because, well reasons. The number one reason is because it does not help Trump.

By the way, was one of the five people that you listed that were prosecuted before this case Trump? This was his second run in with this law so how on Earth could he claim that it had never been used before? How senile is the old man?

Trump has recently said on tv that he is the first to ever be prosecuted under this law. and for some people, if Trump says it, no matter how ridiculous it is, it must be true.

It was just a minor error on his part. He was just the first person to be prosecuted twice under this law. Only a person with advancing dementia could possibly forget that he was already tried and found guilty under this law for another fraud of his. Plus it is well known that others have been prosecuted so it must just be this one minor faux pas.

And it's pathetic of Trump-haters to believe that all those successful banks just take a person's word about what a property is worth without any verification before issuing loans in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
What does this have to do with Trump lying on the applications?
Are you perhaps going to next claim that the banks set Trump up?

The cases you cite are businesses that failed and cost people a lot of money. Trump's businesses made money for those he did business with, which in this case was the banks he got loans from.

Do you believe that a bank would just hand out money based on what someone puts down on an application without verifying it? Even a regular house loan would have information verified first, let alone a business loan in the tens of millions.

I do not doubt what you say. Fraud is fraud. I am, though, talking about the specific *NY* law under which the orange criminal is being prosecuted for breaking. I am too lazy to look it up.

That he was lucky for once does not matter. If he had borrowed money at the appropriate rates they would have made a lot more.
