Unpacking Donald Trump's controversial Tweet

Agree with your post, thought i would make a small technical correction. All of the women are u.s. citizens, 3 out of 4 are natural u.s. citizens

Well yes and thank you for the addition. I still consider Omar just by right of personal philosophy a U.S. citizen because she is an elected congresswoman.

Man for real. All these one line sentences and then he says "try again" like bro, you've made no point.

I say try again when your point fails completely. It means make another attempt. As per your refuse to read a pfd that is tiny. A pfd that by your own logic makes Omar antisemitic.

As she is the one that is foreign born and following the socialist policy that destroyed her homeland.

How politically aware are children 5 years old and under? She came to the US at age 5.
It is what she is doing now not at 5 years old.
So where did she get her politics from? From Somalia when she was 5 and under? From the refugee camp in Kenya she spent 4 years at before coming to the US? Maybe from her time at US political caucuses as a youth where she volunteered as a translator?

Fair enough. So why emphasize her foreign birth instead of her politics?

As Somalia's socialist government collapsed without USSR money. The system her father worked for and support that was toppled. She is a victim of that system yet advocates for it. She blasts the US as per her distortion of the Battle of Mogadishu ignoring that those militants were the ones that chased her from her home (Google her story). The nation that saved millions of Somalia and gave her refuge.

Trump is attacking the socialists in the Dem party. He was trying to divide the moderates from the socialists but he blundered causing them to united. Hence why he defended Pelosi when AOC tried the race card.

But the persistent singling out … it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful … the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.” - AOC NYTimes. She ignored the possibility that her, AOC, has stupid policy positions and made it about race. A few days later AOC and Pelosi are buddies. That stinks of politics.

Identity politics creates alienation when mixed with politics. People become representatives of race and sex as a primary, policy comes second. More so if white male politicians were to do the same the left would be flipping out about racism. Yet look at demographics of the US. Dems babble about uniting people but they are dividing people then projecting on to Trump.

I would say that Trump's tweet was a manifestation of his own Identity Politics, empty of anything remotely associated with substantial politics. ;)

Ergo this is why you jumped to racism before he could say anything?

No.

Do you know what anecdotal evidence is?

Yes. Your point?

No it is part of the point. Unamericanism has been used for decades for socialists of all stripes. He used it against Sanders but suddenly it is racist because the target changes?

It's been used against anyone who criticizes the US government.

I can't work out if Trump is trying to be obnoxious, or if he's just naturally obnoxious.
I had a bizarre discussion about that with a very pro-Trump friend.
I said that Trump's many outrageous insults work against him.
Let's call him Bob (his real name is Brian, but we'll keep that confidential.)
Bob said that he agrees with Trump, & that because he's President, he
knows more than we do. So Trump is doing the right thing by pi$$ing off
the left. Bob also agrees with the insults, eg, "go back where you came from".

It seems that Trump can do no wrong, but works in mysterious ways.
I'm highly skeptical of that.
Also, FWIW, I loathe the "love it or leave it" attitude.

I’m pretty confident that they don’t get offended by what each other says about the other.

But words have strong effects on the populace and keeps them stirred up.

Does anyone ever think to themselves ~ “why am I getting so stirred up over a tweet from Donald Trump?”

It's not the tweet its's what was said. It's something uncommon and unfitting of what a leader of the free world ought to say.

If you don't think Trump's tweet is racist, ask yourself, how many times has he commanded Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden to go back to where they came from?

I think Trump has accomplished what he intended, magnify division within the Dems. And I fear that if they don't keep such enthusiasm in check, at least for now they will loose it, as did the over enthusiastic Newt Gingrich.
