Why is there no Prophet of our time?

There are many here in the now, with potential to be a prophet. But they choose not to do so...because of so many closed-minds. They would be forgotten about...or disregarded...and media sure as heck wouldnt cover the topic. Ya know??

I don't need to listen to past so called prophets, through my own Enlightenment, I now have become my own prophet.

Is simple we do not need a phophet when there is a Spirit of Truth

So Paul was just kidding when he said there would be prophets. Otherwise, it would be superfluous, since obviously the Spirit of Truth is manifested so clearly and plainly by those who claim to believe.

So what happens when two people claim to have this Spirit but have contradictory views?

If the condradictions can be discarded withoit disearning the bottom line truth, then they are discarded. If two agree on basic fundamental truths...then thats the truth we will teach.

If we look at the three major monolithic faiths from the time of Adam to the Islamic prophet Muhammad, throughout that period there has been a steady progression of prophets and messengers from God. Why is there no prophet of our time? Why has God chosen to be silent in our darkest time? It would be nice to hear the views of all religions on this subject.

Baha'is hold there have already appeared two Manifestations of God ... Independent Prophets since 1844...1260 AH... The Bab and Baha'u'llah.

I'm here... people just don't like to listen anymore. I blame it on poor parenting skills. :D

+2 for orginality. Baha'i faith is the illuminati lol.

How exactly is the Baha'i faith the illuminati? And what exactly is the illumanit in your opinion.

And just to drop some knowledge on ya.
Illuminati - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Honestly, I feel as though the illuminati hold some good ideals, so I personally would take a comparison with the illuminati as a compliment.

Thanks for your post.. No offence taken! Where the Illuminati was a secret organization, the Baha'is are very open and public. :)

Its best to hide a secret in plain site though. :) no one expects that. Lol. But i could be wrong about it, i will at least say that.

Well "hiding a secret in plain sight" sounds interesting but we Baha'is are specifically enjoined not to use deception or taqiyyih..but hey.. I encourage you to investigate!

You need to do some more research. Your totally missing the secret they're hiding in plain sight. ;)

According to the wiki article, "The goals of the organization included trying to eliminate superstition, prejudice, and the Roman Catholic Church's domination over government, philosophy, and science; trying to reduce oppressive state abuses of power, and trying to support the education and treatment of women as intellectual equals."

I can subscribe to all of that (except delete Roman Catholic Church, and substitute organized religion). And I am a Bahai. So ladybug's case is proved. Moreover the enemy of the Illuminati was despotism: the illuminati were shut down by Karl Theodor. Bahais also stand against despotism and for democracy and consultation with the people. Baha'u'llah wrote to Queen Victoria:

We have also heard that thou hast entrusted the reins of counsel into the hands of the representatives of the people. Thou, indeed, hast done well, for thereby the foundations of the edifice of thine affairs will be strengthened, and the hearts of all that are beneath thy shadow, whether high or low, will be tranquillized. It behoveth them, however, to be trustworthy among His servants, and to regard themselves as the representatives of all that dwell on earth.
(Tablet to Q. Victoria)

One issue I see between Bahais and the 18th century illuminati is that they were a secret society, which is understandable given that the risk they ran in trying to get a bit of openness in a closed authoritarian society. That is, I do not think they were trying to create a society run by a secret elite, they were in a society run by an elite and were trying to change that. Bahais in Iran do not put their membership lists on the internet either!

A second issue is that the illuminati had grades of membership and a hierarchy, whereas the internal structure of the Bahai community mirrors what we would like to see in society: egalitarian, with elected Assemblies making decisions that affect the community, and plenty of room for individual initiative. But this is not how the Bahai community was run in its early years, as a persecuted group. It took time to develop, and it requires an open society to really flourish (there is no Bahai Administration among the Bahais of Iran for example: you can't have elections without membership lists).

There is a virtual industry of anti-illuminationist propaganda, often quite absurd (especially as the illuminati were shut down in 1785). I wonder whose interests are being served by that? A population that fears an invisible threat is more ready to accept the people who (1) create the idea of a threat and (2) make themselves the saviors fighting that threat. I am very suspicious of these supposed "exposers" of hidden hands and secret societies which, being hidden and secret, can never be proved but can be suspected everywhere. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Is there a conspiracy behind the conspiracy theory industry? I bet I could find suggestive evidence at least that some conspiracy theorists had connections with other conspiracy theorists. Shock. Horror. Now buy my book.
