But that's just it, the religious students DON'T have the right to pray during school time and the school does not have the right to sponsor a prayer. That's the point, you do not have the right to take up my child's learning time with your child's religious chantings. No more than I would...

This doesn't follow from the first two, though. No atheist I know says "the world just is" and is not curious about the origins, if any, of the universe. Nor do atheists attribute anything to "blind chance." On the contrary, scientists are actively and passionately searching...
From my experience, it's never, ever enough. The religious students may wear their religious garb to school, pray silently all day long if they choose, organize prayer groups at lunch, free periods and after school, and doodle pictures of Jesus on their book covers.
But unless we force all the...
But you made the same assumption about...wait for it...the Assumption. :)
If you can categorize Mary rising up bodily into heaven as a fairy tale, isn't it perfectly understandable and acceptable for me to categorize Jesus rising up bodily into heaven as a fairy tale?
There's nothing preventing people from praying silently now. There's nothing preventing students from gathering during free periods or after school. Why is it so important we set aside a mandatory 15 minutes?
Public schools are full of religious kids and I'm not aware of any disrespect...
You said the SCOTUS made a bad ruling. I assumed by that you meant they made a bad ruling when they ruled that public schools could not sponsor prayer during school hours. Was that a correct assumption?
If so, my question to you was, would you support prayer in public school if the prayers...
I just posted a "Goofus and Gallant" cartoon on another thread. I doubt anyone under 40 even knows what that is.
But the worst is, I've started springing gray eyebrows. Just one or two here and there, but can the mad scientist look be far off?
It is interesting to see someone who believes in fairy tales categorize other people's beliefs as fairy tales.
At least you know how someone like me must feel when I hear people talk about Jesus rising from the dead and flying off into the clouds like a swarthy Superman. ;)
A bad ruling? So your in favor of mandated time for Muslim prayer in America's public schools then, and want the constitution amended so each day every American child must spend 15 minutes either praying to Allah or quietly watching their classmates do so?
