Further, I would not be surprised if China brought in a buddy or two. Then Europe might chip into US efforts, then Russia gets nervous (and we all know what happens when Russia gets nervous).
That may be the case, but their economic position is worth considering, too. I would suggest we find new places for our production so we can reduce our dependency.
I disagree. I think it is very, very complicated. What may be viewed as reasonable legislation to one person is unreasonable to another. Where does the 2nd Amendment start and stop? Will the SC need to rule in? What we are talking about is subjective and not concrete and that's the problem.
Another problem is we don't have very good data on the problem, right? It's abstract and always moving. It is a grey area for sure and I don't think anyone has much confidence in how to solve the issues we are talking about, sadly. :(
I certainly don't deny the history, but the culture that surrounds it is alarming. It is unique to the US and, in my opinion, is not something we should be proud of. We can have responsible firearm usage and have reasonable legislation to help curb gun violence. It is possible to have both.
