I believe they're telling the truth. That the soul actually pops out of the so called 'dead' body for a short period of time, hovers around it or even visits other spirit realms, then comes back to tell us about its experiences.
This is what some of us are trying to wrap our minds around. I guess we'll never know. lol
I suppose you're speaking from an absolute reality, where there's nothing but Brahman, yes?
I like peda too. But it's not my favourite coz its way too sweet for me. Born in Ukraine but raised in India, so yeah, i do like a few Indian snacks like potato fritters, rice cakes (idlis) and even biriyani. I also like chicken and fresh water prawns but very rarely I eat them. I'm more content...
I have heard a lot about Kraftwerk but i don't think i ever listened to their music or maybe i did but i don't remember. Just googled about them and found out they were into various genres like disco, post-punk, synthpop, techno etc.
TBH, I spend a lot of time on the internet listening to...
Everything we see around us, couldn't possibly have cropped up, in my opinion, out of nothing. Existence cannot appear out of Non-Existence. The effect that we see and feel (the material universe) must have a cause. And this cause, in my opinion, is the infinite, all-pervading Spirit or...
In my religion, we the non-dualists see this eternal, infinite being as Spirit or Consciousness. IT exists before creation and continues to exist after dissolution. IT doesn't really create. IT simply manifests the material universe, from an unmanifested dormant state.
This same Spirit or...

Ok this is going to be a long post. Sorry about that. And thanks for the links. Although the Vivekananda article was good and gave a desciption of what maya really is, it didn't explain how Brahman uses Its shakti maya to manifest as this material universe.
If you say, Brahman...
I'm having a little difficulty in understanding how the two (Brahman and Maya) co-exist. And how does one helps the other to bring all sorts of illusory appearances.
Can you explain this to me using the ocean & wave example?
@ajay0 I really like what you posted here. Gita too says its prakriti or maya who's active, not the Atman. I think we the RF members here have already discussed this before but sometimes its good to bring up old topics. The more we discuss, the more our antahkarana gets purified. :)
We do have...
I'm not very familiar with the pantheon of Egyptian, Mesopotamian or Roman Gods/Goddesses but I do believe that they exist. I believe in the existence of multiple Gods. IMO, they are simply manifestations of the Infinite Spirit Brahman. Some of those forms i believe came into existence during...
When you say "Ra at midday is associated with Horu" do you mean Ra is associated with Horus? Just curious. I've always wondered why Ra and Horus looks almost the same.
Being a peace-loving person i would never forcefully convert atheists into believers. As you said in your post, belief in God should come from within. :) Yes you can discuss your beliefs with non-believers and if they like 'em, then its good, otherwise let them walk their own path. Let the...
