The bible is supposed to be our guide, it is what we are supposed to use to compare the world too.
So if someone were a Prophet, an honest to goodness Prophet given by God to lead us then wouldn't it be safe to say that the Prophet himself and his circumstances would resemble those of the bible...
Hey, if you want to call yourself a Christian then by my standards you're a Christian no matter what you believe.
If you want my respect however you have to believe at the very least that Jesus was more than just 'a cool guy that did stuff I agree with but was just a man'
I think everyone has...
Honestly, What it means to be Jewish and if one is Jewish is something I think is determined by the individual.
Do you really need a specific amount of ancestry in your blood or a Rabbi's acknowledgement to validate your beliefs? I, personally, think not.
But I have no authority and even less...
Thank you for answering all my questions :)
I think I understand your thinking, Although... the reason I brought up the corruption thing is because I kept reading how Mormonism is supposed to be uncorrupted, that the whole religion came about because of the corruption in Christianity.

So are you trying to say that Christians don't save money or have retirement funds?
That is why I said 'A lot of Atheists are humanists' and not 'All Atheists are humanists'

And faith is exactly that, it's not throwing...
Well.. I mean I wouldn't say that, And only you can know that for sure.
Honestly I thought we were just debating semantics here, not anything deeper... I hope I haven't said anything to discourage you.
I think, on this forum, I've learned the most from the people I like the least. They can be rude and cruel and arrogant but they push me to see the world differently. I don't always appreciate that, and it's not always a good thing but sometimes it can be.
So I think you should give them a try...
When you say 'losing belief' it sounds odd to me, Because it's not like you dropped it somewhere. It didn't fall away from you, you fell away from it.
So I think the words I chose were appropriate.
A lot of Atheists also claim to be humanists but I don't see them hocking all their belongings to 'feed the poors' as you so eloquently put it. There are plenty of affluent Atheists that give pittances to charity but use it as a show of their Atheistic magnanimity, and people rarely call them on...
