Divine law. Only in general circumstances do we appropriate righteousness with morality, but that is not righteousness in regards to the biblical term.
Lot seemed to have done his best. I don't judge, I'm not supposed to judge. I can look at any person you would consider 'good' and find fault...
David knowingly sent a man to his death, all to steal that mans wife and slake his lust for her. And God called Him a man after His own heart.
None of us are perfect, but do our sins negate whats in our hearts?
He was a righteous man, in as much as man can be righteous.
But he was not...
I'm not sure there ever has truly been a 100% patriarchy, It seems to me a more general term. Historically the world was much more patriarchal than it is now and yet there were always random instances of women with influence and power.
So yes, I agree the world isn't black or white but that's...
Because they're selfish. Because they can't let go. Death is release, from this life to whatever comes next and religion is supposed to facilitate that.
Why would one trade the infinite for the finite?
To stall death? What good is that? How does that truly save anyone?
No.
Hell no.
People die, people die all the time and they will continue to die and you know what will happen to the person you save by giving up your faith? They'll still die, all you did was buy them some more time.
I wouldn't give up faith for myself or anyone else.
"Patriarchy is a social system in which males hold primary power, predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property; in the domain of the family, fathers or father-figures hold authority over women and children."
So I'd say that to be ruled...
Well, from the Global Gender Gap report of 2015 America is rated at 28. (Up from 60th in 2013)
So things are improving, but there is no way we're even close to equality and yes, America is still ruled by men.
A quote from an article I found written in 2014 -
And that's not to mention that...
I doubt God appreciates His name being on money any more than you do.
But honestly.. aren't there more, I don't know, constructive things to put your focus on? This is just.. way too petty.
There are other countries than America you know, most of which have strict gun laws.
And the reason why we won't become like you've described is because we've got secularism and Muslim countries do not. It's not to do with peace but politics. I mean for goodness sake, a lot of Islamic countries...
I don't really think about them, to be honest.
If you're talking about people who are intersex from birth then I guess I think they're just people, and whatever gender they feel most comfortable with identifying as is fine.
I think whatever feels right to them is what is right, whoever they're...
Sexism is discrimination against people because of their gender. It's a way of depreciating people based solely on prejudice. Exactly like racism, so no it's not positive.
And having gender roles is oppressive, for men and women. It hurts everybody. It doesn't allow for men to be homemakers...
That's pretty awesome.
I do love it when Atheists find something more for themselves.
I can't speak for your pastor friend, you'd be surprised how very rare it is to find two Christians that believe all the same things, but as for me I think it's something. And something is better than nothing...
I don't like to talk about it.. or think about it in fact I just kind of pretend there's nothing wrong. But.. I'm pretty sure I have Bi-polar. My mother has it and so do quite a few other people in my family.
But I'm too afraid to find out, even though it's a struggle, I just don't want to know...
