Wrong to Cheat on Partner?

Ok, after 7 pages of debate, is it wrong or right to cheat on your spouse. I sure like to start the ball rolling - I mean cheat. Pray tell.

Well I agree to a certain extent, but time is precious and I don't think it should be wasted trying to make a relationship work, especially if it isn't going to. That is just nonsense.
Why would you work on a relationship you know is doomed? Must be another quirk of your universe.

I would like to ask what you think this thread is about? And your views on cheating, when is it right and when is it wrong?

I agree with linwood,

Cheating is wrong because its an unwritten violation of another. If a person need to be sneaky to cheat then they obviously don't like the person enough.

My views are (simple situations):

Men cheating with married women is wrong.
Men cheating with unmarried women is not.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Wow, that's weird. You completely left out these other options.

Married men cheating with married woman

and

Married man cheating with unmarried woman

What about them apples?

Alright, but how can a man cheat if it is with a married woman. Isn't it the married woman that is cheating?

Gender is irrelevant cheating is wrong period. If a man or woman needs to cheat, be single.

This is silly.....its never right to cheat.
Alright, well I might have a different definition of cheating. I believe in pushing the boundaries of a relationship to see how strong a relationship really is sometimes. And I have done it to the point where the boundaries broke. lol

"Men" means married and single men. But what's with the apples - I like bananas.

Taking advantage of someone else for personal gain? I would say that is cheating. Evidently someone is trying to take advantage of someone else if they are cheating.

Therefore, if the relationship is not one for personal gain (either side) it is not cheating. There could be many of such situations I am sure.

I agree. I was responding to the post which said, "Men cheating with married women is wrong. Men cheating with unmarried women is not wrong."
